AmiQuote 4.16 Post-processing in Javascript

This is for 32 bit AmiQuote using Yahoo Finance Workaround to download Yahoo price data.

Having an issue with AmiQuote 4.16 while downloading price data during the evening for NYSE symbols.

The following Microsoft error is displayed, stopping the download with AmiQuote displaying ‘Post-processing in Javascript’ for the ticker. Please see image below. Nothing appears wrong with the ticker data.

(I do get AmiQuote ‘Error: Not Found’ for other symbols now and then for old tickers and this is not a problem as they do not stop the download. I want to keep the old ticker data so am glad AmiQuote accepts these symbols.)

I sit at the PC clicking OK as ‘Post-processing in Javascript’ is displayed. Again, I see nothing wrong with the price data for these symbols price data.

I also have option to click on the original Yahoo Finance Workaround that downloads only, as of today, price data for 8 bars. It runs without stopping. The problem is that I usually download only twice a month for the NYSE price data.

Help is appreciated.

In short:

If you are getting script error, you have to re-download and re-install AmiQuote 4.16 because your data source definition is NOT up-to-date.

What happens is that on those problematic symbols INTERNAL YAHOO ERROR occurs, causing response NOT to return normal response.

Normal Yahoo response looks like this:

Erratic Yahoo response looks like this:

The erratic Yahoo response does NOT include expected chart object. And that incorrect content causes script error.

This unusual (erratic) behavior of YAHOO requires extra check in the script and that is what AmiQuote 4.16 with UPDATED script is doing.

So Download and install AmiQuote 4.16 Even if you did that earlier. What you have on disk is old stuff. You have to get new stuff. That is the ONLY PROPER SOLUTION.
