ASCII Format - $APPENDNAME

I want to append identifier to my Symbols to make them as Synthetic Ticker.

Based on my understanding, I created below Format file:

# Format definition file generated automatically
# by AmiBroker's ASCII Import Wizard
$FORMAT Ticker, Date_YMD, Volume, OpenInt, Aux1, Aux2
$APPENDNAME _st
$SKIPLINES 1
$SEPARATOR ,
$CONT 1
$GROUP 2
$AUTOADD 1
$DEBUG 1
$ALLOWNEG 1
$OVERWRITE 1
$NOQUOTES 1

What I expect:
My Symbols should be converted to “MSFT_ST”

What is Actual Output:
MSFT

Note: I have also tried $APPENDTICKER but output is again same.

What am I missing in my Format file or in my understanding?

Same here. My importing with my format file adds the sybols but without the appended string. Also tried without the quotes, same result.

Input: BMW
Expectation: BMW.DE
Actual result: BMW

AB v6.26.0

# My Xetra stocks symbol list import format (.csv extension)
$FORMAT Name,Fullname
$APPENDNAME ".DE"
$SKIPLINES 0
$NOQUOTES 1
$BREAKONERR 0
$SEPARATOR ;
$DEBUG 1
$AUTOADD 1
$CONT 1

Any ideas anyone?

Same here- no luck with $APPENDNAME or $APPENDTICKER

@marcd, using this kind of command works:

$FORMAT TICKER,ALIAS,ROUNDLOTSIZE,TICKSIZE,APPENDNAME

but you need to add the suffix to each of your import file

Ticker, Alias, LotSize, TickSize, Suffix
ABC, ABC-STK-BVME-EUR, 1, 0.25, .IT
HJK, HJK-STK-BVME-EUR, 25, 0.01, -EUR
XYZ, XYZ-STK-BVME-EUR, 100, 0.05, .MI

Wow- that means I have some programming to do. I have to change EODData source files- what a bummer. Thank you so much for the info.

APPENDNAME works as part of $FORMAT and it also works as "standalone" commmand
$APPENDNAME "text"

but there is a condition. When used standalone you have to have one symbol per data file.
