Hi there. I dont seem to find any afl formula of the chande-kroll indicator, not even on online search. Can anyone provide me with a link to such formula or otherwise the formula itself? Thanks!
@alonhalter here's the description of the stop from the 1994 book “The New Technical Trader – Boost Your Profit by Plugging into the Latest Indicators” by Tushar Chande and Stanley Kroll.
Since it seems easy to code in AFL (only 3 functions are needed: HHV, LLV and ATR to calculate it and Plot() to display it), I invite you to do it yourself to improve your knowledge of AFL.
By the way, if you are still unable to do it, if you upload the descriptive image to Chat-GPT, with an appropriate prompt you are likely to get a correct formula (or perhaps one that needs to be revised slightly).
Hi, Beppe! Thanks for your kind and prompt reply. i took your advice and turned to Chatgpt with the original text, and for the first time it gave me a formula which actually works without any mistakes. so either this formula is indeed very simple, even for Chatgpt, or maybe it is improving itself. but apart from thanking you, i want to remark i think Chande Kroll is a useful formula, at least for stoplosses, and i think it should be included in the basic toolbox of amibroker, not having to count on good souls like you to be able to use it. Thanks again. consider this topic closed.
