Cleanup of Sectors and Industry from databases and Default settings

Dear Group,

Refering to my earlier post of Oct 2022.
Importing Sector & Industries using a csv

I have been able to import the Sectors and Industry using the csvs. Issue crept in when I was working ON an old database, well before I had a handle on the above post. Some redundant tickers where default Sectors and Industries were present was triggering the filters (On similar lines as WatchLists) for exploration.

Now my queries is as follows:

  1. How to do away with any default Sectors or Industries being assigned within the definition of ASCII Import type? Most of the process of importing is being done through scheduled batch process and hence if any new tickers come through they go automatically to the default sector or industry configuration. Is there a way to keep it NULL or predefine as say NEW till the time the csv import related to Sector & industry is undertaken? This is important because daily process don't involve assigning of Sector & Industry through csv, it's a normal price based import like O, H, L, C, V etc.
  2. As part of the cleansing process, is there a way to assign predefined Sector & Industry to all the existing tickers within the database? In the next step, we may use the csv import to assign the Sector & Industry. So the redundant tickers are automatically put into say another predefined OLD.

You should designate Sector 0 and Industry 0 (first in the list) as "NEW" because by default, if your data file does not include any sector / industry info NEW symbols added by ASCII importer on first occurrence will land in Market 0, Group 0, Industry 0 (the very first in the list of those categories).
