I have many custom indicators written in AFL. Some are not efficiently written due to use of for loops( My fault, not Amibroker's). When I move the selector bar to a new position, there is some delay.
If I want to spend more on hardware to improve performance, which hardware component should I buy? More RAM or faster CPU? I'm already using SSD.
How about exploration and backtesting? Does RAM or CPU matter more?
The best desktop CPU for Amibroker recommended by Tomasz is Intel i7 8700k.
AMD Ryzen 7 2700x is the closest match to i7 8700k and is about 9% cheaper. It has 8 cores/16 threads 4.3Ghz. This AMD chip is cheaper and the specs suggest it could be faster than i7 8700k.
Has anyone used Ryzen 7 2700x on Amibroker? Any side effect as it is not mainstream Intel? I'm thinking about buying this CPU for my next PC.
Virtual machines are a whole lot slower than real hardware.
