After I come back, I am inclined to click on the "New" link at the top in order to see subjects/msgs I have not seen before. Unless I have missed it (did some searching but no joy), I would like to have way to "mark" a subject as "read" even if I have not opened it. So far, if I do not open messages in the list, the new list stays the same (or has more added). I can tell by some of the subject lines that I will not be interested, so a scroll down the list will suffice, opening only the subjects which I would like to read. Is there anyway to mark messages as "read" without opening them?
Thanks,
Ken

Well, I found the keyboard shortcut “x.r” which clears the “New” list in total. Just what I need, scroll down, read the msgs of interest, then delete the remaining in one step.
Thanks for any further replies…
Ken
Hi Ken
There is also a Dismiss New button at the foot of the list which will mark all new posts "read".
