No option to save as .afl

I have been facing an unseen issue since yesterday while trying to save my afl programs as .afl.

All new afl files are being saved only in HTML even if I change the file type to .afl. This has rendered my hours of work useless.

The amibroker is allowing me to save files only as .chart and not as .afl.

Request someone to help me in resolving this issue.

Also if there is any way I can get the files now appearing only HTML format to get them to open in the original .afl format.

That is not HTML, it is XML format of saving the entire chart window along with all the tabs in it. (see link at the end) it contains parameter info and chart related settings which are not part of AFL code.

If you want to save AFL formula, then right-click > Edit Formula which will open the file in Formula Editor. This is where the coding and AFL related stuff can be done from.

Similarly, if you save the Analysis window from where you Scan/Explore/Backtest, it will Save as APX project. It also has an edit button in the toolbar to view the AFL code.

There are charts with .chart and analysis with .apx extension. AFL as .afl is purely the formula code which is used within these two features.

@nsm51 Thanks for your advice.

I understand now. It was my silly mistake that in hurry to save the formula under the new name, I used to save as File > Save As.

I'll be more careful henceforth.
