Patience, perseverance, and gratitude

Just wanted to take a minute and leave a quick post for both the new Amibroker users and the veterans. I have been using AmiBroker since around October of 2019. At the time, I had no idea that to some degree everything I would end up doing with AmiBroker would require ME to learn how to write the programs to make it run the way I wanted. I honestly thought I had wasted my money. I quickly began checking out the forum, hoping that others had already written the codes that I was looking for, just as many do. I found a couple of things here and there but ultimately there were issues trying to run them which forced me to ask questions...lots of them! Fortunately, there were guys like @Tomasz , @beppe , @fxshrat , @rocketPower , @RioL , @Milosz , @empottasch , and many others that patiently and sometimes, very directly, offered advice and helped me work through the issues. I was in the forums everyday for more than a year trying to figure out what I needed to know, never feeling comfortable with what I was learning. A couple of months ago, I came across some interesting videos talking about different scans and indicators that others had built for other platforms and I was interested in duplicating them for AmiBroker. To my surprise, I was able to make several of them without ever getting on the forum to reference anything. It was as if I actually knew what I was doing, like a switch had been flipped or something. So for those new guys, stay patient and persevere! For the veterans, I can't thank you enough! I still have a long ways to go and I will still have many questions. But it is an awesome feeling to realize that something you thought was out of your realm, is quite possible with just a little patience and a little work.

I like your post.
People are very quick to complain.
Genuine praise is way less common.
Amibroker is a daily tool for me. My lack of understanding of its nature is often a source of frustration for me. The light bulb moments keep me going and make me better appreciate the program's design.

Keep learning and stay positive

@MCassICT - thank you for posting this. It is really appreciated and inspiring for beginners. Sometimes it is hard to explain to newbie that he/she needs time and patience but eventually will get there. Valuable things are never easy. Quote from Theodore Roosevelt

Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.

Also as @megamills noted genuine praise is rare. So thank you and thank all forum contributors.
