Searching the Forum for answers before posting

As I develop my layouts, real-time streaming of quotes from IQFeed.
Many of the answers I find send me to Flash Player based answers.
Is there another option to find these answers? Or should I post the question again to have a readable or viewable answer?
Example: Resizing the width of the Ticker Box...

Should I volunteer to convert flash player to HTML5 to reduce redundant questions for old answers?

@camo, in the meantime, if you are a bit adventurous, you can try to use Ruffle | Flash Player emulator written in the Rust programming language.1

Anyway, the steps to resize the "ticker" edit box are these:

  • Click on the "chevron menu button" (chevron menu is available from little arrow button placed at the end of toolbar strip) - below highlighted:

  • Move the mouse over the small arrow at the right of the "Add or Remove Buttons". A further popup menu appears. Select and click the Customize... option: this will open the "Customize" dialog (entering in "customization" mode).

  • After the dialog is displayed, click with the mouse in the "Ticker" edit box. A black border will appear all around it. Move the mouse to the right border, and you'll see a "resizing cursor"; with the mouse "drag" it to the right, resizing the ticker box as desired.

  • Close the "Customize" dialog.

By the way, this procedure is also described here, but I hope the additional images I posted will make it a bit more clear.

1) I installed Ruffle as a Chrome extension (enabling the developer mode to load it after unzipping it to a local folder), and the old Flash video that shows how to resize the ticker box will play perfectly in the browser.
There is also a stand-alone executable, but you have to use local flash files previously downloaded. Moreover, Microsoft Defender SmartScreen blocks it "for your protection". You may choose to run it anyway.
In any case, it's essential to keep in mind that every third-party app/extension you install on your machine from any non-trusted source could pose a security risk.

Have you both use search (properly)?
You could have spared yourself lots of time.

It is not just decribed in manual

but also a video in forum exists already (with less talk and text styles).

@fxshrat, I did a quick search (and I imagine @Camo did it too), but probably we were using the wrong keywords ("wider" did not come to my mind).
It was indeed simpler to find it for you since you are the original poster of the video!

Anyway, I appreciate that you shared it again in this thread, so it will probably be easier to find it searching for words like "resize" "ticker" "box".

Moreover, I think that someone else may find it helpful to evaluate the usage of Ruffle (notwithstanding the caveats) for all the other cases where AmiBroker (and other sources) old flash videos are no longer reproducible in modern browsers since the official demise of Flash.

In any case, IMO, it would be nice if AmiBroker will find a way to create some new video to replace/integrate all the old ones, using the latest version of the software.
As a further step, I suggest sharing them in a well-planned playlist, creating an official channel on YouTube.
I'm sure a lot of novice users will find them very useful.

You think too complicated.

The magic word(s) are "ticker box" or "ticker menu".

If you know advanced feature "customize" then it is even simpler to get straight to there.

So you do not need to be original poster at all.

Much appreciated @beppe and @fxshrat.
I know one day I will be helping others also.
I know that after many years of using brilliant software like AB, it is easy to forget how beginners struggle to find and then understand the resource materials, the path of least resistance, "the Forum", is very tempting to go to first.
Thank you again...
