I have created my own list of sectors per the attached screen shot. Why isn't it showing up in the Symbols window?

Only non-empty sectors (and categories in general) appear in the tree. You have to assign symbols to relevant industries that belong to sectors you created. Then they will show up.

Somewhat related, there are 289 Industry Groups in the database I am creating and AB allows up to 256. Any chance of making room for some more? AB was my Christmas gift this year, I love your program! Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays!
Sorry, but number of industries is limited to 256.
You might be trying to use GICS. GICS and ICB are both supported by AmiBroker natively and don't have that limit.
I use Zacks Investment Research for my fundamental analysis. I have their Research Wizard. Zacks divides the market into 16 sectors and 289 industry groups. Every week I run an Excel spreadsheet that ranks their 289 industry groups by performance for the past week, 2 weeks, 3 months and 6 months. This is how I stay on top of rotation in the market. I added a request in the thread for 30th AB anniversary ideas to increase the number of industry groups AB can handle to 300. Hopefully this will be considered.
