Sending automated orders to IB

I've developed an exploration that relies on getting the opening print. Often, price spikes so far away from the open by the time that I get my order in that I can be behind in the trade by at least 1 or 2 percent. I've looked at this post before and have downloaded this application:

Dear Friends, I am looking for YouTube tutorial on how to integrate AFL code with interactive brokers account. My strategy is dynamic where everyday it generates new buy or sell orders or modified existing positions with trailing stop losses. I tried searching YouTube but could not find anything useful there. However, it looks pretty complex. Has anyone used this application with any success. If so, how difficult would it be to create a market buy if an exploration is run right at 9:30 am EST? Thanks.

Sending an order to IB is a matter of 3 lines using automated trading interface that is documented in detail here:
