Trending move vs correction

What is the best way to differentiate between trending moves and corrections?
I read there are some indicators and oscillators (like moving average, MACD, RSI, VHF, ...) that can help in this regard, but how do they help? Could you please explain to me how I should use them?
I want to know them because usually in correction I find signals which are not correct. I deeply appreciate it if you could help me in this regard.

Thanks in advance

@simon, That is the issue. We don't know. So, write up some rules in the AFL and Test them out.

Find your edge, and trade it for a profit (hopefully).

Do some reading. I usually recommend Alexander Elder, "Come Into My Trading Room" and Greg Morris, "The Complete Guide to Market Breadth Indicators".
@snoopy.pa30 is correct, "That is the issue"!
