When I type a stock code into the relevant window on the main screen and hit 'enter', sometimes the chart comes up and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, I have to click on the current chart to make it change. Minor issue, but I'm wondering how to fix it please.
It is not normal. Check your formulas. Maybe they are using Static variables and not refreshing properly with first execution. Also check your data source (3rd party?), maybe it does not deliver data on first request.
Many 3rd party unsupported / unauthorized plugins are awfully written and don't work properly.

Before you type a stock, make sure, you have the window chart selected. Suppose you have a chart and a Analysis window open, if last window selected was Analysis and you type the symbol and hit ENTER, would do exactly as you described
