Hello All,
At my price point I can buy a new i7 with 4 cores 4 threads or a second hand XEON with 8 cores 16 threads.
With AB optimised for multi-thread the XEON seems best for quicker backtesting.
Anyone with a recommendation or real experience with this comparison?

Clock speeds? RAM speed? There are many factors not just CPU model.

I've chosen an 8th gen i5 instead of a 7th gen i7 as the new option. There are dozens of XEON variations also. These two are a similiar price though.

This Xeon is likely to be faster due to significantly larger L3 cache and twice the number of cores, as clock speed difference is not that large.
